Today we leave for regionals!

The North Central Region will take place at the Navy Pier in Chicago from Friday, May 31 to Sunday June 2. This is what we have been training for all year. CrossFit OKC is taking five individuals and a team of three men and three women. I could not be more excited and more proud of each of our athletes!

The most exciting part this year is our team. All six members have never been to a regional competition before. This will be their first experience at a high level CrossFit event. This is my fifth year to compete. I know what to expect. I know how the jitters feel. ¬†They don’t. I expect them to surprise themselves with how well they do, and I can’t wait to see it all play out.

For me, my goal is the same: make it to the CrossFit Games. The top three women advance, and I have no easy task ahead of me! The last two years, the three qualifying spots have been occupied by the same three women. These ladies have done extremely well at The CrossFit Games each year. To beat even one of them will take perfection on my part.

I’ve been working hard. I’ve gone through the events. I feel comfortable with the movements. Now it is time to just let my body do what it knows how to do and have some fun.

No matter the outcome, I plan to give it my all. If I do that – I know I can’t be disappointed in myself. I have put a lot of pressure on myself in the past. This year I just plan to trust myself and let the cards fall as they may.

Our team consists of:

AJ Berger, Taylor Sandefur and Joey Marking

Leslie Dixon, Kelsey Duncan and Laura Rauh.

Drew Hymer, Brad King and Kameron Rosenau

Kristen Rosenau and Ginny King
